Role
Cathy Leonhardt is a Managing Director in the Mergers and Acquisitions Group specializing in the branded consumer and retail sectors.

Experience
Ms. Leonhardt joined the PJSC in 2003 and has over 12 years experience advising  clients on mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and licensings.

Most recently, Ms. Leonhardt advised Redcats Group in its acquisition of United Retail Group, Inc., Phillips-Van Heusen Corporation in its acquisition of Superba Inc, Kate Spade LLC in its sale to Liz Claiborne, The J. Jill Group Inc. in its sale to The Talbots, Inc., and Citizens of Humanity in its sale to Berkshire Partners. Ms. Leonhardt also represented the board of May Department Stores Company in its merger with Federated Department Stores Inc., Loehmann's Holding Inc. in its sale to Crescent Capital Investments, and Barneys New York Inc. in its sale to Jones Apparel Group. She also advised Penn Traffic and ATX Communications, Inc. in their Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings.

Prior to joining PJSC, Ms Leonhardt spent seven years at Morgan Stanley & Co., Inc., as a Vice President in the mergers and acquisitions group where she was involved in domestic and cross-border acquisitions. At Morgan Stanley, Ms. Leonhardt's selected transactions included: Sears, Roebuck & Co.'s acquisition of Lands' End Inc., Tommy Hilfiger Corporation's acquisition of Tommy Europe, Jones Apparel Group's acquisition of Norton McNaughton, merger of Monsanto Company and Pharmacia Corp., Georgia-Pacific's spin-off of The Timber Company to Plum Creek, and the sale of Donna Karan's beauty business to Estee Lauder, Inc. Ms. Leonhardt has also worked with personal care companies including Coty Inc, Unilever PLC and Beiersdorf AG. She began her career at Wachovia as an officer in the US Corporation Banking Group.
