Role Jeffrey Hornstein is a Managing Director in the Mergers and Acquisitions Group. He leads the Firm’s activities in the real estate sector and co-leads its retail industry practice.
Experience Mr. Hornstein joined PJSC in 1993 and has over 16 years experience advising clients on mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, leveraged financings and restructurings. He has represented numerous companies in the retail and apparel industries, including Chico’s FAS Inc., Barnes & Noble, Inc., The J. Jill Group, Ralphs Grocery Company, Phillips-Van Heusen Corporation, Regis Corp., and The Warnaco Group Inc. Mr. Hornstein advised Lands' End, Inc. on its $1.9 billion sale to Sears, Roebuck & Co. – the largest specialty retail transaction in U.S. history, and advised the board of May Department Stores Company in its $17.1 billion merger with Federated Department Stores Inc. – the largest department store transaction in U.S. history.
Prior to joining PJSC, Mr. Hornstein served in the Investment Banking Department at Kidder, Peabody & Co.
