Jason Russell is a Managing Director and serves as head of Industrial Technology, Software and Services within PJ SOLOMON’s Technology, Media & Telecommunications Group. He joined the firm in 2017. He has over 15 years of experience as both an investment banker and industry professional.
Mr. Russell has extensive experience advising clients across the Industrial, Technology and Services landscape on sell and buy-side M&A and financings. He focuses on sectors that are undergoing digital change and enjoys working with clients on new markets and technologies, as well as, important strategic and financial opportunities and challenges. His sector expertise includes: industrial software (supply chain, manufacturing, field service), transportation and logistics, automated machinery (robotics, advanced manufacturing), vehicle systems (telematics), and commercial and residential services.
Mr. Russell recently advised Körber AG on its acquisition of HighJump Software, a leading US-based supply chain technology and cloud solutions specialist; Michelin on its €520 million acquisition of Sascar, Brazil’s largest digital fleet management company; Vivint, a leader smart home technologies, on its $2 billion sale to Blackstone; Eaton on its $290 million sale of its Aerospace Power Distribution and Integrated Cockpit Solutions businesses to Safran; and ADT on its $500 million acquisition of Protectron.
Prior to joining PJ SOLOMON, Mr. Russell worked at Citi as an investment banker, Lear Corporation as quality manager, and Caliber Logistics (acquired by FedEx) as an industrial engineer.
Mr. Russell received an M.B.A. from the University of Michigan, where he graduated with distinction, and a Bachelor of Science in Industrial & Systems Engineering from The Ohio State University.
Mr. Russell is a coach for Scarsdale’s Grade 2 and Kindergarten Basketball Clinics. He is also an assistant cubmaster for Boy Scouts of America.
