Role

Larry Botel joined Solomon Partners as Senior Advisor for Real Estate in 2007 after partnering with the firm on a $100M principal real estate investment fund. Over the last ten years, Mr. Botel has assisted Solomon Partners on numerous real estate-related advisory assignments.

Experience

Mr. Botel co-founded JOSS Realty Partners in 2005. Since its inception, JOSS has acquired twenty office assets totaling over three million square feet with a value in excess of $1 billion in New York, Philadelphia, Washington DC, Miami, Los Angeles and San Francisco.

Throughout the course of his 30-year career in real estate, Mr. Botel’s work has included all facets of property acquisitions and sales, complex financing structures and multiple property debt securitizations. He has underwritten, negotiated and closed over $4 billion in property and real estate debt acquisitions and recapitalizations, over $2.5 billion in real estate financings and over $1.5 billion in real estate securitizations.

Mr. Botel has long-standing relationships with real estate investment banks and private equity firms, service providers and brokers, in addition to lenders, owners and developers. He is also a General Partner of two affiliated Minor League Baseball teams, the Richmond Flying Squirrels (SF Giants AA) and the Omaha Storm Chasers (KC Royals AAA).

Education

Mr. Botel received his M.B.A. degree from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a B.S.B.A. from Georgetown University.
