Mr. Bormel advises notable branded retail, consumer and digital companies. He represents public and private companies on a variety of assignments, including buy- and sell-side, merger, and licensing transactions, as well as debt and equity financings.
Most recently, Mr. Bormel advised HBC on its sale of Lord + Taylor to Le Tote, Five Below on its acquisition of select Hollar.com assets and its investment in N3rd Street Gaming, Payless ShoeSource on its Chapter 11 restructuring, VF Corporation on its sale of Reef to The Rockport Group, HBC on the sale of real estate assets to and formation of a joint venture with Signa Holdings to operate Kaufhof and Karstadt, Kenneth Cole Productions, Inc. on its recapitalization, Skullcandy on its sale to Mill Road Capital, Office Depot on its sale to Staples (terminated), and Under Armour on its acquisition of MapMyFitness and select global marketing transactions. Other clients include Apollo Global Management, Kering SA, Monro Muffler Brake, Inc. and PVH Corp.
Mr. Bormel holds a BBA, with distinction, from the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan.
