Jason Russell is a Managing Director and serves as Head of Software & Disruptive Technologies within PJ SOLOMON’s Technology, Media & Telecommunications Group. He joined the firm in 2017. He has over 15 years of experience as both an investment banker and industry professional.


Mr. Russell has extensive experience advising clients across the Industrial, Technology and Services landscape on sell and buy-side M&A and financings. He focuses on sectors that are undergoing digital change and enjoys working with clients on new markets and technologies, as well as, important strategic and financial opportunities and challenges. His sector expertise includes: industrial software (supply chain, manufacturing, field service), supply chain & logistics technology and services, industrial automation (robotics, systems integration), vehiclemobility (telematics), and commercial and residential services.  

Mr. Russell recently advised 3Gtms, a leader in transportation management software, on its sale of a majority stake to SumeruEquity Partners; Körber AG on its acquisition of HighJumpSoftware, a leading US-based warehouse management software and cloud solutions specialist; Michelin on its €520 million acquisition of Sascar, Brazil’s largest digital fleet management company; Vivint, a leader in smart home technologies, on its $2 billion sale to Blackstone; Eaton on its $290 million sale of its Aerospace Power Distribution and Integrated Cockpit Solutions businesses to Safran; ADT on its $500 million acquisition of Protectron; and Carlisle Companies on its $410 million acquisition of Hawk Corporation.

Prior to joining PJ SOLOMON, Mr. Russell worked at Citi as an investment banker, Lear Corporation as a quality manager, and Caliber Logistics (acquired by FedEx) as an industrial engineer.


Mr. Russell received an M.B.A. from the University of Michigan (graduated with distinction) and a Bachelor of Science in Industrial & Systems Engineering from The Ohio State University.

Mr. Russell is a coach for Scarsdale’s Grade 2 and Kindergarten Basketball Clinics. He is also an assistant cubmaster for Boy Scouts of America.
